Hotel at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto

★★★★☆ Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada 3.7/5 from 1671 guest reviews

A modern four-star hotel on Queen’s Plate Drive where the lobby and rooms often outshine the mixed aggregate score. I stayed in January to test arrival, bathrooms, sleep, and the morning after a casino-campus night.

“It was spacious and clean. Washroom was very clean too and modern. The lobby was beautiful.” Ashley Sadafal · Google

One small thing landed better than I expected: how composed the room felt once the door closed. After the scale of the lobby and casino campus, I braced for a louder overnight. Instead the suite went still, with evening views that guests rightly call lovely.

Arrival reads as contemporary resort architecture — a confident entrance, a lobby that families describe as beautiful, and a first impression of polish rather than apology. You feel the campus immediately; this is not a tucked-away boutique door on a side street.

The bathroom was modern and genuinely clean. Fixtures worked without fuss, counter space was usable, and the finishes matched the “wow” reactions kids and adults leave in reviews.

Night noise stayed mostly outside my door. Corridors carried occasional late traffic near elevators — request placement carefully if you are sensitive — but inside the room I slept through. Darkness held; the bed did its job.

Morning was unhurried. Light came in cleanly, and breakfast on property felt like a practical continuation of the stay rather than a spectacle. I left with a clearer sense of why some guests call this top tier while others argue with the front desk over third-party bookings.

Checkout was efficient. Walking out, the lasting note was the lobby’s composure — a reminder that the public face of this hotel is often stronger than the mid-three-point-something average suggests.

Checking in

Arriving

The approach delivers you into a polished lobby. Desk staff were accommodating with my room request; guests also note that clarifying pool locations at check-in saves a scavenger hunt later.

In the room

Keys in hand, the walk settled into modern corridors and a spacious, clean room with an evening view that made the staycation feeling guests describe feel earned.

Why it works

It works when you want a modern room, a secured pool area, and a campus with evening options without leaving the property. The mixed score mostly reflects uneven desk moments and expectation gaps — not a lack of impressive rooms.

  • Spacious, modern rooms with strong cleanliness notes
  • Friendly housekeeping and accommodating reception (when it clicks)
  • Pool and hot tub access controlled by room key
  • Lobby and theatre spaces that feel like a true getaway

When to go

Busier stretch

Late winter school breaks and peak weekend evenings in Etobicoke tend to fill the campus with family staycations and casino traffic.

Quieter stretch

Shoulder weekdays in Ontario’s cooler months often feel calmer in corridors and at breakfast — useful if sleep is the priority.

Where it sits

The hotel address is 1133 Queen’s Plate Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 0G4. That places you on a purpose-built casino-resort campus rather than a dense downtown block.

The exact pin is on the map further down the page — use it to understand the approach for your own trip rather than assuming a walkable urban grid.

Did I sleep?

Yes. The room went dark enough, the bed held me through the night, and most of the campus energy stayed beyond the door. Elevator-adjacent rooms can be livelier — ask if that matters to you.

Guests who love it emphasise the room, lobby, and kindness of staff. The cooler notes cluster around front-desk confusion with third-party bookings — worth arriving with confirmation details handy.

“Room is big, clean and has a nice view. Great swimming experience and sauna, there’s a gym too. The room is near the elevator as I requested and the receptionist is very accommodating. Bring your own slippers specially if you are planning to use the swimming pool.”

“Had a staycation with my kids during March break. As soon as we walked into the room my 5yr old said wow what a nice room lol. It was spacious and clean. Washroom was very clean too and modern. The lobby was beautiful. It felt like we actually went away. We used the pool and hot tub which was great. Warm, lots of seating and good security in place, you had to swipe your room card to get in so no random ppl would enter the pool area which is nice. I also went to the theater at the hotel recently for a show and it was great!! Very big space and felt comfortable for the 3hr show. Walked through the casino and it was beautiful! We paid just over $200 for one night which I think is very good pricing for Toronto for all you get there. And parking was free!!!”

“Wow.. I don’t understand the negative reviews - I’m from England and for me this was absolutely top tier. All staff are friendly and kind and even housekeeping staff so lovely (not always the case I’ve found in other spots) - gorgeous and modern room actually big! Lovely views in the evening and so clean.. lost 40 dollars in the casino but least I had the experience! Just fantastic. The only advice I can give is please when checking in mention where amenities like the pool are etc.. should’ve used the pool it looked lovely and the hot tub - didn’t get around to it.. should’ve!”

“Honest review ||Front desk |I paid using Priceline and when I got to the front desk the agent tried to tell me I had to pay for the room, I told her I paid through a third party, she got a coworker and he corrected her. She then told me”
